Wij gaan dit doen i.s.m.

Compensation artists for project in 2018
Dabke is the national dance of Palestine. In 2017 the Open Studio won first prize in the Dabke competition. As well as putting the Open Studio in the spotlights, it was a huge compliment to the team. One of the reasons for awarding this first prize was the fact that the Open Studio had incorporated modern theatre and dance techniques into the traditional dance: a novelty in Gaza. We would very much like to continue this development of enriching traditional dance with modern dance techniques. We are planning to this in collaboration with the Ballet National de Marseille. In order to realize this project, we need to involve additional artists and manpower. The amount budgeted for extra salaries in 2018 is € 7,500.00.

The Dutch HOPE team would like to show their great respect to the Palestinian People and all the members of “The Open Studio” who are still continuing their important work with the disabled and traumatized children, in this, the most difficult situation imaginable.
Thank you for your loyalty, your courage and proven love for your community! We are very concerned and worried about you, and think of you day and night.
Although we work in close co-operation with the Dutch Red Cross we have to agree with Archbishop Desmond Tutu:
“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor”.
